The advantages of becoming a Farm Helper

Would you, a friend or loved one like to become a Farm Helper at Horham Dairy and Care Farm? The benefits of care farm work in addition to the knowledge and skills learnt are: increased physical fitness, new and stronger friendships, self confidence, improved appetite, better sleep and in turn improved mood.

People working on the farm can set individual goals, targets or possibly pathways to qualifications. However, we cater for all mindsets and a less target driven approach can be offered where this is of benefit to the individual.

Here at Horham Dairy & Care Farm we work with a number of other professionals and organisations to provide the best possible integrative care to our clients. This includes health care / social care providers / professionals, teachers and individuals.

Staff are qualified and have had enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding training.

We offer placements for:

  • People with learning difficulties and disabilities

  • People with mental health problems

Giving everyone the opportunity to do meaningful work in a supportive, nurturing environment.
You don’t need experience but must be willing to work outdoors in mildly inclement weather including light rain and cold. You will require overalls and footwear suitable for farming tasks.
Horham Dairy and Care Farm is becoming more and more accessible. We have a combination of gravel tracks and grassy paths. As such, there may be some areas that people with limited mobility find it hard to reach. It is always worth checking specific needs prior to trial days.
