About Us
We are a working goat farm set in 12 acres of land based near the town of Eye in Suffolk.
We mainly keep goats but we also have a range of other small animals in addition to a plant nursery.
The farm provides a therapeutic space for young people and adults that have a mental health condition or a learning disability.
Who can attend?
The Farm opens each weekday from 10am to 4pm and is aimed primarily at supporting young people and adults (from 14 years upwards) with tailor-made activities designed to help improve mental and physical wellbeing.
The benefits of spending time at the Care Farm:
• Improved mental and physical health.
• Increased confidence and social interaction.
• Greater independence.
• A sense of purpose.
• General animal care: walking the goats, feeding, grooming, foot trimming and bottle feeding the goat kids. Looking after the chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and Tortoises.
• Propagating seeds, taking cuttings, feeding and watering herb plants, planting hanging baskets, growing vegetables and fruit.
• Repairs to existing fencing and animal housing.
• Hedge and tree planting, creating wildlife habitats that benefit local wildlife such as owls, bees and hedgehogs.
